Gather. Encourage. Sharpen. Love. Worship. Grow.

Welcome to the Fixing Her Eyes Community! I am so glad you found us.

It is my hope that:

  • Fixing Her Eyes will be a place where women can gather and encourage one another to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
    Hebrews 12.2

  • the site’s readership and contributors are cross-denominational and cross-generational. We are united through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
    Ephesians 4

  • Australian women will have a place to share their journey, thoughts and reflections with others, helping others hold onto and strengthen their faith recognising that we can learn from one another. That those who are isolated can feel connected. That as women we will cheer each other on, seeing each other as children of God, made in His image, being transformed into His likeness. Encourage each other in whatever season we are in to hold onto God’s promises. We will celebrate each other’s uniqueness and our gifts and recognise that together, with our Christian brothers, we are His church. We will encourage each other to choose joy. To find rest in God when we are weary.
    2 Corinthians 3.18, Ephesians 5.30, Hebrews 10.24, 1 Peter 3.8, Ephesians 4.3, Proverbs 27.17, Psalm 62.5

  • readers encounter a living God. A faithful God. A God whose love is agape - the highest form of love. A God who seeks and saves the lost. A God who listens and knows our hearts. A God who desires relationship with us. A God who we can call Abba Father. Our Rock. Our Eagle, under whose wings we take shelter. A God who created us in His image. Who lives within us through His Holy Spirit. The very presence of God. A living and active God.
    John 3.16, Luke 19.10, Psalm 34.15, Romans 8.15, Jeremiah 10.10,  Deuteronomy 7.9, Isaiah 40.31, Psalm 91.4, Genesis 1.27, 1 Corinthians 3.16, Psalm 61.1

  • we will be encouraged to prioritise time with God each day to listen. To recognise Him as our creator and who longs to spend time with us. That it won’t be because we have to, but because we long to. To be like Mary who sat at His feet. That we will discover the unfolding story of love and grace and mercy in the bible. That there is a purpose for our lives. That in the midst of an ‘I” world - iPhone, iMessage, iTunes etc we will tune into God first. That we will be in awe at the way that Scripture has been written in a way that can speak to us now just as much as it did to the Early Christian church. This is the power of God’s Holy Spirit.
    Luke 10.38-42, 2 Timothy 3.16-17

  • we will be captured by the heart of Jesus and so desire to live our lives dependent upon Him and wanting to grow more like Him. That we seek to think about our faith in Him but also what the out workings of that faith looks like. That we will make more room for Jesus in our heart. That we ask for eyes to see, ears to hear, hearts to change. That we ask Him to use our hands and feet. That we will live according to His greatest commandments. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself”
    Matthew 22.37-38

  • we will be so struck by the enormity of grace that we will live as thankful disciples who will not be caught up in earthly desires but in lives of faithfulness. That we model lives of forgiveness and mercy as Christ forgave us. That we model lives of integrity and character. To live our lives reflecting Micah 6.8 “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
    Colossians 3

  • we encourage each other to enjoy the gift and recognise the responsibility of living in a country such as Australia. That we take hold of every opportunity to share the good news.
    Colossians 4.5

  • we look at the women in the bible and draw inspiration and lessons from their lives. Recognise that we see women who were leaders, preachers, evangelists, servant hearted, loving, faithful and brave. That we look at the way Jesus treated women and realise how counter cultural that was. To know that we are called to be counter cultural.
    John 4, John 20, Romans 16

  • we pass on the baton well to the next generation of men and women.

  • we will be faithful in prayer, committing all things to Him. Recognising that everything good happens because of His work in the world. That we seek to glorify His name above all others.
    Romans 12.12, 1 Thessalonians 5.17, 1 Samuel 2, Psalm 34.3

  • we will follow in Jesus’ footsteps. That we seek first His righteousness. That we hear His voice. That we see this world with kingdom eyes. That our heart breaks for what breaks His. That we fix our eyes and hearts on the things that matter and be his instruments on earth. That we model what it looks like to live God's way.
    Matthew 5-6, Psalm 141.8, Proverbs 4.25, 2 Corinthians 4.18, Hebrews 3.1

It is my prayer that this site points people to Jesus. Our King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Our Redeemer. Our Saviour. Our rescuer. Who brings justice and hope.

“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1.9-10

To God be the glory.
