Me
I’m married to Peter, have kids, work as a lawyer and am a partner in a national law firm. I sit on a number of boards including Anglicare Sydney and Anglican Deaconess Ministries. I love big dinner tables with loud noisy conversations. I have post graduate qualifications in Messy Life.
Favourite bible verse
The one I keep coming back to is “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel“ (Philippians 1:27)
This verse has convicted me to my core and yet, I’ve never been left without hope. It speaks of perseverance, courage and suffering, which are all elements of a fully-lived Christian life.
How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus
It is about the bible and prayer. I mix it up in all sorts of ways: Books, blogs, devotionals, podcasts, music, friends, sermons, church.
What would you like the next generation of women to know?
That God’s word is abiding and true. I’d like them to know his word intimately and confidently and to live it and teach it in their lives. And I want to hear their voices.
What is the one thing you love about your local church?
One sentence: It is nurturing, grace abounds, God’s word is loved and taught well and community is valued.
What did you learn about God in a time in your life you found hard
To be still and know God. He is true and sure. He is waiting and has deep wells of living water upon which to draw. I have known His deep comfort and “presence” in the midst of the most difficult and heartbreaking situations.
What are you passionate about
In no particular order: Dinosaur Designs Jewellery, Prosecco, books, movies, coffee and chats and travel. I am passionate about ensuring women flourish in their faith. I have had the privilege of serving as the Chair of Anglican Deaconess Ministries where this is at the heart of what we are doing.
What do you enjoy doing when you rest?
Totally loaded question: Sleep.
