- What's your favourite bible passage & why? Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. Isaiah 54:2-3
I love how God stretches us, restores us, equips us & grows us. In knowing I need to have capacity to fulfill my God given purpose I love drawing back to this passage time after time throughout my ministry & walk with God. There is always room to grow, it's about having the trust in Him to do it, but also to embrace the promise of His abundant blessings which come when we are obedient to enlarging of our heart & home!
- How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus?
This is a tough one, but over time God keeps bringing me back to simply finding “a moment”, it might be small window of opportunity, or it might be a whole naptime (!!!) nonetheless, a moment where I can ask God today: what are You showing me? Growing in me? Revealing to me? All so I can further Your kingdom’s cause. Often it’s in those moments He speaks the loudest. As the hustle hums away, tune in to Him.
- What would you like the next generation of Christian women to know?
You can't have it all - well, you can, just not at the same time. Know that life comes in seasons, waves, chapters and embrace them as they are - not striving for what was, or what might come or what the ideal perfect absolute could be. God's purpose for you in this moment is shaping you for the next, relish in the beauty of the ebb and flow that life brings.
- What's one thing that you love about your local church?
Our home church is wonderful at welcoming new people & going that extra mile when it comes to getting connected into the life of our church. We are all about community building internally, so we can build the community externally. I love the heart we have for each other and that encourages each one of us to be constantly bringing new people into the mix. There's a flexibility that adapts, pushes us to excel at new relationships whilst maintaining the old and constantly includes. The gospel is not exclusive so why should church be?
- What did you learn about God at a time in your life you found hard?
He is faithful. He was yesterday... He will be today. In the 3 years it took to conceive our first baby we wrestled with God's ability versus our inability. We lent into His presence even when we didn't 'feel' like God was going to show up, we learned to worship Him through every season - the highs, the lows, the ordinary & in between & that He will always come through with what is destined & promised for His purposes.
- What are you passionate about?
I love seeing people come to freedom in Christ through the gift of music. I love living my life from a worshipper viewpoint, ever being grateful for the things He has done & will do, earnestly seeking Him out, crying out to Him, being refined by Him all through the ability music has to connect us with Him. I love seeing the gap between generations bridged and investing in that personally - one chapter ahead, one chapter behind.
- What do you enjoy doing when you rest?
I love to read or paint: Reading takes me on a journey into someone else's world. Painting furniture, rooms, walls or literally anything that warrants a makeover takes me on a journey into my own story world. I love being able to engage my imagination!
