Tell us a little about yourself
Julie Powell, clinical social worker and minister's wife. Mother and grandmother.
What's your favourite bible passage & why?
Micah 6:8, Psalm 147:3
Both of these are about why I love God because of who he is and therefore who I want to be. They are like summaries of God's relationship with humans.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6.8 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147.3
How do you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus?
Almost automatic these days, like a homing pigeon. Jesus is my home. With everything I've gone through, Jesus is my resting place. I'm not a structured person. It hasn't always felt like that but after periods of my life where I have had to be dependent on him, that's what it is now.
What would you like the next generation of Christian women to know?
Each women is never a mistake. Each woman is designed by God to have value in her way in her world. There is something special about the womanly nature that comes from who God is.

Despite the normal church difficulties, they are loving and accepting and desire to serve God.

He is faithful and reliable and does love you.
What are you passionate about?
Social justice, underneath that is that every person is safe and cared about.
What do you enjoy doing when you rest?
Reading. I don't like being completely at rest! I like knitting or playing computer games to relax.
