Christian Bookstore Campaign

Australian Christians live out their faith in a uniquely Australian context. Our culture, history, church life, and our challenges. If Christian bookshops make space for more Australian voices, they will help people find books that actually sound like their context and speak into their everyday lives. Fixing Her Eyes is calling upon all Christian booksellers to:

✔ Create a dedicated space for Australian Christian authors, including online

✔ Feature female authors on International Women’s Day & throughout Women’s History Month (March)

✔ Celebrate local voices shaping faith today in our context

Book Review

Sheila Wray Gregoire reviews, Bible Truth About Women on her Substack.

She touches on two of many concerns regarding why we need to address the teaching in churches regarding women urgently:

1. Our view of God has suffered, and the very character of God is misunderstood and maligned, affecting the walk of every believer.

2. Younger women who expect to live in an egalitarian world are less and less inclined to go to church when women are marginalised there.

The inconsistencies and proof text reading of the Bible are addressed as well as other crucial reasons why we need to get this right.

Author bio (in part): “Raised by a Baptist pastor and educated at a Christian college, she spent many years believing in restrictions on women. Finally, she studied the non-restrictive view, and instead of discovering that it was based on feelings and wishful thinking, she found it supported by stronger textual evidence—a discovery that led her to seminary to acquire more resources for research.”
